The Special Olympics will take place at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex from June 5-12, 2022. According to Disney “thousands of athletes, families, and fans in attendance for the games will be treated to legendary entertainment- sprinkled with a little magic- with an exciting Opening Ceremony produced by Disney Live Entertainment”.
Experience Kissimmee, Special Olympics, and Disney made the announcement on January 25, 2022. Disney has been a sponsor of the Special Olympics and will continue to support the games in a number of ways including supporting “the families and fans cheering on the athletes this summer with cast members and community volunteers”.
