Disney Launching new Photopass Options for #HalfwaytoHalloween

In honor of “Halfway to Halloween,” Disney PhotoPass at Walt Disney World is launching two new options – a The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror lens (available for those using Disney Genie+) and an updated The Haunted Mansion ride photo (available for any foolish mortal riding The Haunted Mansion).

The updated ride photo aboard The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom debuts today. Remember the phrase as you ride out of the Haunted Mansion that says “and now a ghost will follow you home” (referring to the Hitchhiking Ghosts)? With this new ride photo, one of the three Hitchhiking Ghosts now appears in your photo. You can really bring one home with you!

There is no photo preview wall at the exit of The Haunted Mansion where you can link your photo, so there are two options to have it automatically linked to your Disney account while riding:

  • Use your mobile device. Enable Bluetooth and log into the My Disney Experience app before riding. Then just put your device in your pocket or bag while you enjoy the ride.
  • Wear a MagicBand that’s linked to your Disney account.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror lens launches today as well in the My Disney Experience app with the purchase of Disney Genie+. The lens is available to use on Sunset Boulevard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

This AR lens will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to Halloween night, 1939. Tip: When using this lens, get close enough to the ride to hear those riders screaming as their elevator plummets over and over again. It really adds to the mood.
