Disney Signature Experiences recently announced that design concepts have been released for Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community, showcasing stylish homes near Rancho Mirage, CA, an area that once felt the footsteps of Walt Disney himself. Walt and Lillian Disney handpicked the valley for a retreat for renewal and rejuvenation.
DMB, a real estate developer based in Scottsdale, AZ, is working with WHA Architecture in Newport Beach, CA, with creative oversight from Walt Disney Imagineering, to unveil inspirational home concepts that could be used in the design of Storyliving by Disney.

The combination of rich culture and spectacular beauty of California’s Coachella Valley appears to be an obvious choice when it comes to the setting for these modern residences.
Before building can actually begin, the City of Rancho Mirage officials will need to review the community’s Preliminary Development Plan including home design and floor plans.
When Disney Imagineering is involved in a project consumers can expect attention to detail, unique amenities, and special touches that can only come from Disney. Projected completion for Cotino is scheduled for 2024, with sales expected to begin in early 2023. At least one section within the community will be designated for 55+ residents.
Additional Storyliving by Disney locations are currently being explored within the U.S, but it seemed most fitting that the Coachella Valley was the place to start.
