It’s Taking Shape Before our Eyes!
Lead Concept Designer, Reid Ekman with Walt Disney Engineering shared a first look at some exciting details within Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. This attraction will be brought to life within World Nature — the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, awe, and balance of the natural world.

Journey of Water is being designed for guests of all ages to enjoy and will allow the opportunity to explore and engage with water, journeying from the sky to the ocean and back again. The Walt Disney Imagineering team and crew of artisans are hard at work sculpting the rockwork in this one-of-a-kind exploration trail.
Inspired by Moana’s fierce determination for protecting her environment and her bond with water, Imagineers want guests to learn about the importance of water and experience its playful personality just as Moana did.
Moana fans will be excited to see familiar shapes and characters carved into the rocks and waterways throughout Journey of Water. Moana herself will be front and center celebrating water’s arrival to the ocean.

Every detail of the project helps tell the story. Fans will recognize Moana’s iconic spiral, which was displayed on one of the first concept renderings.

Moana is the perfect role model to help us protect and conserve water and guide us through the Journey of Water.

More details will be shared in the weeks and months ahead so be sure to check back for updates.
