No more paper maps?
At Disneyland Paris, sources are reporting that accessing park maps by a paper brochure is becoming a thing of the past.
If you were someone who has grown up around the Disney Parks, chances are very good that you used a brochure at times that showed a map with lists of all that the park offers in way of attractions and entertainment.
The Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, as well as the Disneyland Resort theme parks in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure all use paper maps, available in several different languages, at the entry park of the theme parks.
However, Disneyland Paris is removing paper maps altogether, replacing them with a QR code scanner instead. The sign that contains the QR code reads, “To make the most of your time, we invite you to download the official Disneyland Paris free mobile app. You will be able to explore the two Disney Parks, see wait times for attractions, and much more.”
At this time, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have not made the switch to completely mobile but many believe it might not be long before the QR code scanner becomes the new normal at the Disney Parks.
Would you miss paper maps if Walt Disney World makes the switch to mobile?
