The appetizers are over and we’ve reached the main course of the Tournament of Disney Dining being run by Topher Goggin’s “Not Your Mother’s Goose” show, as the starting field of 32 Disney restaurants has now been whittled down to the “Plate Eight.” To vote in the current round, use the embedded ballot below (or follow this link if embedding isn’t working).
The “Scrumptious 16” voting was thrilling, with five of the eight winners slipping through with less than 53% of their respective tallies. Over 700 ballots were cast, and a #1 seed got bounced for the first time, as #5 Flame Tree Barbecue took out Woody’s Lunch Box in the Quick Service bracket. Ohana and Whispering Canyon Café were winners in the Resorts division, while a dominant Boathouse moved on for a matchup with Homecomin’ at Disney Springs.
The Parks bracket was the most hotly contested group of the bunch, as the #1 Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater barely escaped Yak & Yeti. It was an even tougher road for #2 Le Cellier, which trailed the Liberty Tree Tavern for two days before pulling ahead later in the week to win with 53%. Those two titans will square off in the next round, along with the following:
