Walt Disney World to Remain Closed on October 10 for Hurricane Milton

Due to Hurricane Milton, Walt Disney World has announced that the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scheduled for Thursday has also been canceled (event tickets will be refunded).

Disney has also confirmed that the expiration dates for partially used multi-day tickets will be extended due to the storm. These tickets will now expire on October 11, 2025.

Hurricane Milton closures began on Wednesday afternoon with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom closing at 1:00 pm. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs closed at 2:00 pm. Disney Springs parking garages also closed at 2:00 pm and will remain unavailable to guests during the storm.

A curfew has been issued for Osceola County, which includes parts of Walt Disney World. The curfew begins at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. On Wednesday afternoon, both the Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort areas were under a Tornado Watch.
