“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” was scheduled to open this fall at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show’s debut has been postponed until 2025.
Disney has announced that instead of the show debuting this fall, it will likely be delayed until the summer of 2025. This past summer Disney shared some behind-the-scenes of the revamped musical and also announced that there would be numerous new puppets and motion-capture characters.
Disney was auditioning characters and puppeteers for the show earlier this year. The auditions were advertised with new concept art on the Official Disney Auditions Instagram account, with the art featuring puppet designs for Sebastian, Flounder, and Max, Prince Eric’s dog. Disney previously auditioned performers to portray Princess Ariel and Prince Eric.
