Disney is preparing to expand its global footprint with the announcement of a brand-new theme park set to open in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The ambitious project will be developed in partnership with Miral, a company known for creating major entertainment and leisure destinations in the region. This new addition will be built along the waterfront on Yas Island, a popular hub for entertainment and tourism.
Once completed, this park will become the seventh Disney theme park worldwide, blending the brand’s beloved stories and characters with the unique atmosphere and culture of Abu Dhabi.

A Collaboration of Creativity and Culture
Disney’s in-house creative team, Walt Disney Imagineering, will spearhead the park’s design and concept development while also providing operational guidance. The goal is to deliver a theme park experience that reflects the spirit of Abu Dhabi while staying true to Disney’s legacy of immersive storytelling and family-friendly attractions.
Strategic Location for Global Visitors
The United Arab Emirates, particularly Abu Dhabi, serves as a central travel hub. Positioned within a four-hour flight for about one-third of the world’s population, the region is known for its impressive air travel infrastructure. Each year, around 120 million passengers pass through the airports of Abu Dhabi and nearby Dubai, making it a strategic location for a major international attraction.
Unique Attractions and Local Flavor
When it opens, the new Disney park promises to offer visitors an array of signature entertainment options, themed accommodations, specialty dining, and retail experiences. The project aims to merge Disney’s iconic storytelling with Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage, contemporary architecture, and stunning coastal views.
While details like the park’s official name and opening date have yet to be revealed, anticipation is already building for what’s expected to be a one-of-a-kind destination that bridges the magic of Disney with the elegance and innovation of Abu Dhabi.
