Fun Facts About The Disney Treasure Pumpkin Tree – Ginger

This fall brings a brand-new Halloween tradition to the seas with the debut of Halloween on the High Seas aboard the Disney Treasure.

Expect all the festive fun that Disney Cruise Line fans love—costume celebrations, spooky film showings, and beloved characters in their Halloween attire. But this year, there’s an extra-special character who calls the Treasure home: Ginger, the glowing pumpkin tree who greets guests in the Grand Hall.

A Magical Tree from Agrabah

Ginger isn’t just any tree—she was created exclusively for the Disney Treasure and draws her inspiration from the enchanting city of Agrabah, the setting of Disney’s Aladdin.

Her branches sparkle with glowing pumpkins, lantern-like gourds, and whimsical carvings. Just like all Disney Cruise pumpkin trees, Ginger has her own backstory and a magical personality that shines throughout the voyage.

During the design phase, Disney’s creative team explored different looks before landing on her final form. She began with banyan tree influences before evolving into a more traditional tree with elongated gourds that reflect the style of crops found in Agrabah’s region. This gave her both a familiar fall vibe and a touch of cultural magic.

A Story That Comes Alive

On the first evening of your cruise, you’ll have the chance to see Ginger’s story unfold in The Tale of the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree.

In this interactive experience, storytellers Coriander and Sage are caught off guard by the sudden appearance of Ginger in the Grand Hall. Guests learn how her carved pumpkins were inspired by the transformations of the Genie himself.

Since Halloween traditions are new to Ginger’s world, she needs help discovering the joy of trick-or-treating. As you and fellow cruisers join in the fun, Ginger’s magic will begin to glow brighter, filling the hall with an enchanting seasonal spirit.

A Lasting Glow Throughout Your Voyage

Once she is lit, Ginger becomes a warm, radiant part of your cruise. Every time you walk through the Grand Hall, her glow serves as a reminder of the unique Halloween experience aboard the Disney Treasure.

Each Disney Cruise Line ship has its own signature pumpkin tree, but Ginger’s Agrabah-inspired design makes her truly one-of-a-kind. With her, the tradition continues in a way that’s both familiar and fresh—perfect for creating magical Halloween memories at sea.
