Disney fans visiting EPCOT will soon see some exciting updates to one of the park’s most charming attractions. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure—the trackless dark ride inspired by Pixar’s Ratatouille—is temporarily closing for a brief refurbishment in November 2025. When it reopens, guests will experience the ride in a brand-new way: in 2D.
Short Refurbishment in November
The attraction is scheduled to close from November 10–13, 2025. Disney has confirmed that the update will replace the current 3D experience with enhanced digital visuals displayed in 2D. This change aims to deliver crisper imagery, eliminating the need for 3D glasses and creating a more comfortable viewing experience for guests of all ages.

Enhanced Visuals and Queue Updates
In addition to the visual conversion, the attraction’s queue and show areas will receive fresh touches to match the updated presentation. Guests can look forward to:
- New props that bring more life to the story’s Parisian setting
- Improved lighting to enhance the mood and detail of each scene
- Refreshed digital effects designed to make Remy’s world even more immersive
These upgrades are part of Disney’s ongoing efforts to fine-tune guest experiences throughout EPCOT, especially as the park continues to evolve with new attractions and reimagined spaces.
What Guests Can Expect
When the ride reopens after its brief downtime, visitors can expect the same beloved story and whimsical movement through Gusteau’s restaurant—but with updated technology that provides a clearer and more vibrant presentation. The 2D format may also help reduce wait times since guests will no longer need to collect or return 3D glasses, streamlining the boarding process.
Fans of Remy and his culinary adventure can look forward to enjoying the attraction again in mid-November, just in time for the busy holiday season at Walt Disney World.
Will you miss the 3D glasses, or are you happy to see them go?
