From the moment you step into the lobby, you will discover something both familiar and new. The updated stained-glass skylights allow warm light to filter through, showcasing the detailed woodwork and the exquisite chandeliers above.
Inviting new furnishings welcome guests and encourage them to relax and take in the view. They have been thoughtfully designed to preserve the resort’s heritage while creating a welcoming space.
Grand Floridian Lobby Bar: The Perch Opens in November
Beginning on November 10, guests will be able to enjoy the lobby’s updated look while sipping a drink from The Perch at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Wet your whistle with a light menu featuring champagne, wine, beer, and two signature cocktails: the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac and the Floridian 75. A non-alcoholic option, the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea is a delicious blend of lemon, blueberry, and basil tea.
Be sure to take in the intricate woodwork, elegant herringbone tile, and stained glass throughout the lobby. You might even spot a few feathered friends adoring the stained glass, murals, and wallpaper.
Victorian Charm Meets Disney Magic
The stunning centerpiece of the lobby continues to be the grand staircase, updated with mural images of what the Grand Floridian may have looked like in years gone by.
Inspired by the Victorian “Language of Flowers,” the new atrium carpet celebrates hospitality, joy, and grace through florals native to Florida’s subtropical landscape.
Woven into the pattern, if you look closely, you will find a few nods like the orange blossom (Florida’s state flower and a symbol of prosperity), palms, moonstones (Florida’s state gemstone), and even a few tucked-away Hidden Mickeys!
The Garden View Lounge Returns in 2026
While finishing touches are being put on the lobby, the story doesn’t end there. It has been announced that early in 2026, the Garden View Lounge will reopen with a refreshed look complementing the new lobby design. The space will offer a new tea experience, complete with Disney touches for guests of all ages to enjoy.
Updates to the Grand Floridian Convention Center
The Grand Floridian Convention Center has not been overlooked when it comes to an elegant refresh. Reflecting the same design from the lobby and guest rooms, the Convention Center will make every moment spent at a wedding or special event feel like being touched by a bit of Disney magic.
