As the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival blooms, visitors are treated to three captivating additions to the park’s topiary displays: Asha, Valentino, and Star; Miguel and Dante; and Groot. These new topiaries blend nature seamlessly with technology, offering guests a unique and enchanting experience.
Disney offered a behind-the-scenes look:

Incorporating Lighting and Textures
The trio of Asha, Valentino, and Star, inspired by the film “Wish,” greets guests at the park entrance. The intricate details, such as Asha’s hand-woven braids and Star’s celestial dust lighting effects, showcase the dedication of Disney Imagineers to storytelling and the ‘illusion of life’ found in Audio-Animatronics figures.

Groot’s Musical Presence
For the first time, Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy” has found a home near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Drawing inspiration from the Disney+ short “Groot Takes a Bath,” the topiary captures Groot’s charm and musical essence. Utilizing 3D modeling and printing, Disney ensures visual accuracy and integrates special effects seamlessly into the design.

First-Ever Projection-Mapped Topiary
Mexico hosts the first-ever projection-mapped topiary featuring Miguel from “Coco.” This innovative display incorporates projection mapping technology to enhance Dante’s appearance, providing an ethereal glow after sunset. The collaboration of talented teams from various disciplines brings these topiaries to life, offering guests an immersive and magical experience.
