January 2, 2026: Disney Shines Bright for America’s 250th Anniversary in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade

Disney kicked off the new year by joining the 137th Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, with an entry titled “Disney Celebrates America.” This festive tribute honored the nation’s 250th anniversary with a burst of patriotic spirit. Even in the rain, the colorful display captured the essence of the country’s semiquincentennial through Disney’s signature magic—highlighting dreams, stories, and hope that have inspired people nationwide and worldwide for over a century.

At the forefront of the parade was the Main Street U.S.A. Horseless Carriage from Disneyland, proudly carrying Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, decked out in festive patriotic decorations and vibrant red, white, and blue blooms.

Joining the celebration were over 50 U.S. military veterans who now proudly work as Disney cast members, alongside their families. This touching presence highlights Disney’s heartfelt gratitude for those who have served our nation and now sprinkle a little extra magic for millions. With a proud legacy of welcoming veterans through the “Heroes Work Here” program, Disney was thrilled to honor and spotlight their dedication as part of the “Disney Celebrates America” float in this iconic parade.

The flowers chosen for this special vehicle carried a heartfelt tribute to those proudly serving in the military.

Decked out in patriotic flair, the Disneyland float featured a stunning array of red, white, and blue flowers—each carefully selected to honor military veterans. Among these blooms were red poppies, a classic emblem of remembrance for fallen heroes dating back to World War I. The display also included fragrant rosemary, vibrant blue irises, elegant white lilies, cheerful chrysanthemums, and classic red roses, all symbolizing love, respect, and gratitude for veterans everywhere.

Joining the Rose Parade this year was a wonderful way to celebrate Walt Disney’s deep patriotism and our century-long commitment to supporting those who serve — a tradition that started with Walt and Roy O. Disney’s efforts during World War I and continues strong today.

As part of this tribute, it was a privilege to shine a spotlight on the U.S. military veterans who are part of our team, along with our expanded dedication to military families — including a generous $2.5 million gift to Blue Star Families.
