Disney Files Construction Permit For Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Reports of a recent filing for construction work at the former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser have surfaced, as indicated by a permit processed on January 25.

The permit, submitted by an engineering manager associated with Disney’s Hollywood Studios, outlines plans for “general construction” to be carried out by Sunstate Awning & Graphic Design, Inc., an awning company situated in the nearby town of Sanford, FL. (Source).

This permit could reference maintenance, demolition, or even construction for a new use of the facility.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a 2-night immersive experience, closed permanently in September 2023, after a relatively short operating lifetime of about a year and a half. Despite receiving acclaim from guests, the experience grappled with challenges related to marketing, unfavorable public perception, pricing issues, and more.

While Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro has hinted at plans for the Starcruiser’s future, Disney has not discussed any specifics.
