Disney KiteTails Premiers At Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney Kite Tails premiered today and I got to see the first show!

Here’s how Disney describes it: Hearts and imaginations will soar as incredible kites and windcatchers dance through the air to the beat of beloved Disney songs during this high-flying performance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Be awed by elaborate, three-dimensional kites of Simba, Zazu, King Louie, Baloo, and more as they take flight above the Discovery River Theater.

The colorful show runs for 10 minutes several times a day!

There is an extensive pre-show complete with characters like Donald and Daisy seen on this boat. There are also some cast members to hype the audience. — There are also some cast members to play a bit of music and hype the audience.

The kites are pulled through the air on jet skis much like former shows at Disney Springs and Epcot. — Cast members operate puppets as part of the show, like these turtles.

The kites are colorful with cool strings that fly through the air. — The puppets were crowd pleasers!

The 10-minute show will be performed daily at 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. at the Discovery River Amphitheater – the former location of Rivers of Light. What’s unique about this show is its daytime appearances.
