Disney Plus has announced that it will begin to offer a new ad-supported subscription plan in the US in late 2022, and will roll that less expensive version out internationally in 2023.
Disney has not yet announced pricing, but the current US version of the service without ads costs $7.99 per month.
Disney has a target of having up to 260 million subscribers by the end of its fiscal year 2024.
The company’s two major rivals, Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video, currently do not offer subscriptions that include ads at a lower price point.
