Disney Live Entertainment shared the very first look at the dazzling new nighttime parade “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.” The parade will make its much-anticipated debut on July 20 at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World!
When the parade makes its debut, you will be able to see the incredible floats all lit up. The Disney Live Entertainment team is currently working through programming and rehearsals to be ready for the big day.
You’ll be able to meet Whimsy, an original character created just for “Disney Starlight.” The parade promises to be an impressive theatrical spectacle!
The Disney Live Entertainment team views everything in terms of theatre, whether it be large, small, indoors, outdoors, or at sea. This idea can be traced back to Walt Disney, who often described Disneyland as a show with everyone being onstage. Since day one, 70 years ago, live entertainment has been a key component of the Disneyland experience. On opening day at Disneyland, the Disney characters were present, as was the Disneyland Band, and there was a grand parade down Main Street, U.S.A.
Over the years, Disney Live Entertainment has grown much more sophisticated and is a leader in the entertainment industry with one innovation after another. Those core elements continue to be part of the DNA. Creating delight in entertaining and merging the familiar and new has always been the objective of Disney Live Entertainment.
The team introduced the first parade soundtrack that changed as it followed each float down the route, the first nighttime electrical parade, the first computer-synchronized fireworks show, the first (and still only) fireworks at sea, the first daily operating drone show, and so much more!
