Disney’s Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure, is expected to officially set sail in 2024. Construction began on the Disney Treasure in January of 2023, and progress continues as the world patiently waits for the new adventure to begin!
As we begin a new year, exciting progress is being made at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg Germany. The whimsical bow artwork was introduced last April featuring Captain Minnie Mouse in her signature adventure-themed attire and can now be seen on the hull of the Disney Treasure, continuing a two-decade-long tradition of sporting a unique character-inspired art piece on its bow.
The completion signifies an exciting milestone for the ship as it begins the next stage of construction.
The shipyard team began the installation process by welding numerous pre-cut steel plates to the Disney Treasure’s hull. Once the framework of the design had been secured, the plates were hand-painted to obtain their iconic golden hue and then sealed with a special topcoat.
When the Disney Treasure sets sail for the first time later in 2024, the artwork is just one of the many unique details that will distinguish the ship.
