Disney Weekly Roundup for April 23–30, 2022

In this edition of the Weekly Disney Round-Up: Connections Cafe opens in EPCOT, Star Wars is headed to Disneyland in a new way, plus a holiday favorite is set to make its return.

This is your Disney news round-up for the week of April 23, 2022.

EPCOT

New Connections Cafe Opens in EPCOT: While it wasn’t officially scheduled to open until April 27, 2022, the Connections Cafe and Eatery had a soft opening period.  I had a chance to tour this newest Disney quick service location and enjoy a meal.

Animal Kingdom

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond to Open in 2022 at DAK: Ever since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Theater in the Wild in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been dark.  Disney let us know they would replace the previous show they presented there, Finding Nemo: The Musical. Now, we know a bit more about the new show that will come in the summer of 2022: Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!

Halloween Updates

Disney Parks Offered Halfway to Halloween Events: Disney Parks invited guests to DisneyBound as Halloween characters, films, and attractions when they came and enjoyed some Halloween-themed treats.

Disney Launches New Halloween-Themed PhotoPass: In honor of “Halfway to Halloween,” Disney PhotoPass at Walt Disney World is launching two new options – a The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror lens (available for those using Disney Genie+) and an updated The Haunted Mansion ride photo (available for any foolish mortal riding The Haunted Mansion).

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returns: As part of the #halfwaytohalloween celebration, Disney has announced that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be back this fall. What frightening good news that is! This fan-favorite event will return to Magic Kingdom Park, complete with the Sanderson Sisters casting their wicked spells across the park. Many people have missed this after-hours party for the past couple of years due to health concerns surrounding the pandemic, but as things are slowly returning to normal in our beloved parks, this party is one of the biggest events to come back!
