To commemorate the centenary milestone of The Walt Disney Company, a nostalgic experience has made its grand return to EPCOT.
Soarin’ Over California, the precursor of the renowned attraction now known as Soarin’, has graced EPCOT with its presence for a limited engagement. Originally introduced as Soarin’ at Disney California Adventure on February 8, 2001, this classic ride found its way to The Land Pavilion in EPCOT in 2005, where it replaced the beloved Food Rocks show.
Back in its early days, this attraction was christened Soarin’ Over California, immersing guests in a breathtaking journey across the Golden State’s stunning landscapes. However, both Disneyland and EPCOT bid farewell to this cherished experience in 2016, making room for the revamped Soarin’ Around the World, which whisked adventurers away to various international destinations.
Since its departure, Soarin’ Over California has made several triumphant returns to Disney California Adventure, sparking waves of nostalgia among parkgoers. Yet, the buzz of excitement is palpable as it returns to Walt Disney World, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to relive cherished memories and create new ones.
Disney 100 at EPCOT
In celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, EPCOT is rolling out a dazzling array of Disney100 offerings that are sure to enchant visitors. Among the highlights, a platinum Mickey statue now graces the World Celebration area, adding a touch of Disney magic to the park’s ambiance.
As night falls, prepare to be captivated by the radiant transformation of Spaceship Earth. The iconic structure will come to life with a spectacular Disney100 light show, featuring a special rendition of the timeless classic, “When You Wish Upon a Star.” It’s a mesmerizing sight that embodies the magic of Disney’s century-long journey.
World Celebration is set to be even more enchanting with the addition of a stunning mural featuring 100 beloved Disney characters. This captivating artwork will grace the walkway leading to World Showcase, providing a perfect backdrop for photos and a nod to Disney’s rich history.
The Disney100 celebration doesn’t stop there. Throughout World Celebration, you’ll find platinum banners and enchanting décor that add an extra layer of enchantment to your EPCOT experience.
But that’s not all! Mark your calendars for December 5th, as EPCOT prepares to debut “Luminous: The Symphony of US,” a breathtaking nighttime spectacular replacing EPCOT Forever and Harmonious before that.
