According to a report by the Orlando Sentinel, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade at Magic Kingdom is set to close on June 23, 2024. Following its closure, construction will begin on a new lounge. This lounge, inspired by the classic era of exploration and adventure, will be the first Disney Vacation Club (DVC) lounge in Magic Kingdom. There are already similar lounges in EPCOT’s Imagination! Pavilion and at Bay Lake Tower in Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
In January 2024, Disney announced the introduction of a new DVC lounge but did not initially reveal its location. Speculations pointed to the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which has been free to play since 2021, as the site. These rumors were later confirmed by Disney, who announced that the arcade would indeed be replaced by the new lounge.
