Disney’s Blizzard Beach has been closed for refurbishment since January of 2022. The popular water park was set to reopen in March, but Disney has extended the refurbishment through at least May. Looking at the Walt Disney World calendar though, there are no listings through November 26.
Why the extended refurbishment?
A recent permit filed by Imagineering has many experts speculating that crews may be constructing a new attraction at Blizzard Beach. The contractor is Brilliant Fabrication, which has worked on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, among other theme park projects. The permit states to “Install show items.”
Perhaps the show items are for a current attraction, or it could be an indication that something new is coming to Blizzard Beach.
