Action is heating up Tournament of Rides presented by World of Walt, as two huge attractions bit the dust at Magic Kingdom last week.
It was a week for the classics to shine, as the 8th-seeded Haunted Mansion beguiled the Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train, bouncing the top-seed with 64% of the vote. Meanwhile, #7 Pirates of the Caribbean and #2 Splash Mountain ended up in a slugfest that came down to the wire, with pirates prevailing by just six votes, which was less than 1% of the final tally.
Pirates now moves on to tangle with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which ran roughshod over Peter Pan by nearly a four-to-one margin. The final survivor at Magic Kingdom is #5 Space Mountain, which posted a 59% to 41% victory over the fourth-seeded Jungle Cruise
Things were more predictable at Animal Kingdom this week, where higher seeds Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and Kali River Rapids all moved on easily.
