On December 5 (which happens to be Walt Disney’s birthday), EPCOT opened the new World Celebration neighborhood. The construction walls are down and the new area features plenty of gardens, green space, sculptures, and places to sit and relax.
Let’s take a look!
The central spine of EPCOT is now filled with green spaces.
The central planter looks like the EPCOT logo when viewed from above.
New lighting effects look like sculptures during the day and will come to life a night.
There are plenty of places to sit and relax (or write a blog entry).
New unique lights and benches are scattered throughout the area.
These rust colored tree-like sculptures are, appropriately, near The Land pavilion.
Check out the geometric etchings and shapes.
The still-under-construction Communicore Hall is in the distance. Note the curved benches.
Many of the planters that hold mature plants are surrounded by additional benches.
You have great views of Spaceship Earth all around World Celebration.
The area is filled with gray and wood-toned colors.
