Orlando No Longer Requires Masks Outdoors, Universal Drops Requirement

Orange County, Florida Mayor Demmings has lifted the county’s mandate that residents and visitors wear masks outdoors.  This follows news that the county has reached a 50% vaccination rate, and is in line with Demming’s planned, phased changes for health protocols.

This news follows an announcement by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that fully vaccinated people don’t need to wear masks indoors or outdoors in most cases.

Universal Drops Outdoor Mask Requirement

In response to the county news, as well as changing CDC requirements, the Universal Orlando Resort announced a change to their policy.  It will no longer require guests to wear masks outside effective May 15.

Is Disney Next?

During the company’s Q2 earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek suggested that Disney will make changes this summer that will make guests more comfortable – insinuating, but not directly stating, that Disney may change its mask policy.

Should Disney drop its outdoor mask requirement, like Universal has?
