Guests looking to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith have until February 2023 before the attraction closes for several months.

The Walt Disney World website was updated to reflect the future temporary closure of the attraction. According to the RnR’s landing page, the attraction will close on February 20, 2023, and reopen sometime this summer. Although Disney has stated the closure is for refurbishment, it’s unclear what those upgrades include.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster currently features the music of Aerosmith with a brief virtual cameo by the band during the attraction’s pre-show. The coaster has long been the subject of several internet rumors about what to do with the area surrounding the show-building, what band should be featured after Aerosmith’s contract expires, and what intellectual property could be added to the overall theme. There is no reason to believe that this lengthy refurb is connected to a theme change.

Full Statement from Disney: “Beginning February 20, 2023, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be temporarily closed for refurbishment. This rocktastic attraction will resume its super-stretch limo rides in summer 2023.”
