‘Sea’ you at the finish line!
Disney has unveiled the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Castaway Cay Challenge medal for those participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January 2023.
The brightly-colored medal is super cute and resembles a luggage tag. Captain Mickey decorates the right side of the medal while a palm tree adorns the left. The background of the medal is a combination of lime green, sunshine yellow, light and dark orange, fuchsia, and dark blue stripes. Stars and conch shells are angled toward the top of the medal. Lettering in the middle section reads: “Disney Castaway Cay Challenge 2023.” The Disney Cruise Line logo completes the look at the bottom.
The medal is unique in that it is a spinner medal, rotating from the Marathon Weekend 2023 30th Anniversary Logo and a Disney cruise ship set against an orange sunset.
The sold-out event begins on January 12, 2023
The Disney Castaway Cay Challenge starts on Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 am EST. The event is sold out. Guests who are participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by State Farm and booked on the January 9, 2023, four-night Disney Wish Bahamian cruise are eligible to participate in the 5K run. The run will take place on the Monday after the marathon weekend.
Disney Castaway Cay Challenge participants will also receive, in addition to the spinner medal, a Commemorative Disney Castaway Cay Challenge Finisher medal for participating in one Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 5K or longer event, a participant shirt, personalized race bib (if you had registered prior to September 27, 2022) and on-course and post-race refreshments.
