A common souvenir collectible in Disney World is the pressed penny. It’s very affordable, and it helps you to remember all the places you stopped while in Disney World since the machines are practically everywhere! It’s also fun to make- put in your quarters and your penny, turn the wheel, and watch the penny turn into a really cool design!
The pressed penny isn’t showing any sign of losing ground, but there’s a new game in town.
New Souvenir Medallions Available
Souvenir Medallions have arrived in Disney Springs in the Art of Disney Store! As far as I can tell, this is the first of its kind in a Disney theme park.

There are four designs: Frozen, the Partners Statue, 2018, and The Fab Five. Each coin is made to look like gold, silver, and copper material, and the backs are all stamped with the Disney Springs Logo.

The cost is $5 per coin or three for $10. To get all four, you’d have to spend $15, which I’m sure was a conscious decision on Disney’s part! You can pay with a virtual card, cash, or a physical credit card, but when paying with a card, the default is three coins for $10.

These medallions are fun, unique, and well-themed, and I’m sure Disney can and will change the designs occasionally especially since one of the designs is a 2018 logo.
While these coins are a great collectible, you don’t get the thrill of actually pressing your own penny.
The coins have a heavy, metal feel – which is good.

Look for this machine in the Art of Disney Store in Disney Springs, and keep an eye out for similar machines across the resort.
