A new Disney tournament is underway, and now is your chance to pick your favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World.
Long-time World of Walt friend and contributor Topher Goggin kicked off the tournament on his “Not Your Mother’s Goose” podcast this week. Thirty-two Disney restaurants have been seeded into an NCAA-style bracket tournament and will battle it out head-to-head until a champion is crowned.
“This is our fourth Disney Tournament, but by far the most unpredictable,” Goggin said. “We let Disney fans help select the restaurants in the tournament, and the opinions are all over the map. I’m very curious to see how this plays out.”
The field has been seeded into four divisions: Parks, Resorts, Disney Springs, and Quick Service. The Parks and Quick Service brackets are now open for voting, while Resorts and Disney Springs will join in next week. The current matches are:
Parks:
#1 Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater (HS) vs. #8 Tony’s Town Square (MK)
#2 Le Cellier (Epcot) vs. #7 Mama Melrose’s (HS)
#3 50’s Prime Time Café (HS) vs. #6 Liberty Tree Tavern (MK)
#4 Yak & Yeti (AK) vs. #5 Skipper Canteen (MK)
Quick Service:
#1 Woody’s Lunch Box (HS) vs. #8 Aloha Isle (MK)
#2 Pecos Bill’s (MK) vs. #7 Regal Eagle Smokehouse (Epcot)
#3 Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café (MK) vs. #6 Casey’s Corner (MK)
#4 Satu’li Canteen (AK) vs. #5 Flame Tree Barbecue (AK)
