From a field of 24 Disney animated assistants, only a quartet remain, as the Tournament of Disney Sidekicks has reached the Forgotten Four. To vote in the next round, use this link or the form below.
The Quarterfinals were full of exciting action, with the sidekicks of the Large(ish) bracket leading the way. The matchup between #1 Baloo and #4 Maui was a thriller all week, with Baloo holding a slim early lead, Maui taking a brief Thursday advantage, and Baloo pulling out the bear necessities to squeak out a FIVE VOTE victory, 300-295.
The win moves Baloo on to an epic semifinal against Olaf, who took time out of looking for Samantha to dispatch Tinker Bell for the Small(ish) championship with 58% of the vote.
On the other side of the bracket, the 595 total votes cast were heavily tilted toward Genie, who wrapped up the Disney Renaissance victory with a 68%-32% rout of Timon and Pumbaa. The win sets up an All-Aladdin semifinal, as Iago claimed the Villain bracket with 55% against Mr. Smee. (If nothing else, the voting has established Aladdin as the sidekickingest movie in the Disney catalog, putting two contestants into the semis.)
Last week’s results:
- Renaissance: #1 Genie (68%) def. #2 Timon and Pumbaa (32%)
