The finish line is in sight in the Tournament of Disney Rides from World of Walt and Not Your Mother’s Goose, with just four attractions left standing. Fans have picked their favorite rides at each of the four Orlando parks, but now the winners will square off against each other for the title of #1 attraction at all of Walt Disney World. With all kinds of fun results already, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top. I am as curious as anyone to see who prevails.
The first semifinal matches pit the Haunted Mansion from Magic Kingdom against Avatar Flight of Passage from Animal Kingdom. Seeded #8, Haunted Mansion has steamrolled through multiple big names, knocking off the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, and now Pirates of the Caribbean to claim the top spot at Magic Kingdom. Can it now continue its dominant performance against Flight of Passage, which got 54% of the vote to narrowly knock off Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom?
On the other side of the bracket, the top seeds continued to bulldoze the competition at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Soarin’ Around the World has been the top vote-getter in the tournament so far, and kept up its hot streak by garnering 64% of the votes against Test Track to win the Epcot title. But now the road gets even tougher, as the semis bring a date against the Hollywood Studios champ, Rise of the Resistance. The Galaxy’s Edge masterpiece scored its third straight easy victory, knocking off longtime favorite Toy Story Mania to claim a spot in the overall semis.
