Training on How to Become an Imagineer: ‘Imagineering in a Box’

If you have a bit of extra time, want to have some fun with a positive activity, or want to plan for a future career as a Disney Imagineer, you might want to check out the online “Imagineering in a Box” class by Kahn Academy.

Kahn Academy is an open educational system providing a variety of lessons to students completely free of charge. Kahn teamed up with Disney Imagineers to provide scalable lessons for individual or classroom learning.

The lessons, which cover topics like Creating Worlds (theme, layout, landscape, graphics, color, and sound), Designing Attractions (thrill, story, high concept, storyboarding, pitching), and Bringing Characters to Life, include videos from real Disney Imagineers who share how they use a wide range of skills like design, math, physics, and of course engineering. There are a total of 32 videos!

This one-of-a-kind learning experience also includes teacher resources with help integrating the activities into your classroom. Disney says that the purpose of this program is to “ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and encourage innovation” to help kids “create the future they imagine”.
