Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close for a month-long refurbishment beginning on February 20. In perfect timing news, it has just been announced that The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will return to full capacity a week before the closure.
The two drop elevator shafts (and the two smaller shafts connected to it that riders go up first) had been closed for refurbishment. All of the shafts were operational last summer, then the other drop shaft closed for refurbishment in November 2022. Now both are open and fully operational.
The Tower of Terror returning to full capacity is timely news with the planned closure of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, ensuring as many guests as possible can ride a thrill ride and Sunset Boulevard won’t get too crowded.
An exact reopening date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has not been announced.
