Walt Disney World Celebrates World Wish Day, Donates $20,000

Disney World is the most magical place on earth. For nearly 50 years, the east coast theme park has brought smiles to kids of all ages, and Disney dreams are fulfilled in many shapes and sizes.

But some of those smiles are just a little bit more meaningful than others. For a child who is fighting for their life, battling a potentially life-threatening – or at the very least life-altering – illness, giving them a chance to just be a kid is a truly magical experience.

In fact, almost half of all wishes granted every year have a Disney theme with more than 8,000 wishes granted at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney World granted its first wish in 1980, and 130,000 wishes have been granted since then. They estimate that 7,000 families each year enjoy the Disney World Resort. Families can also choose Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and more to make their wish come true.

To celebrate World Wish Day on April 29th, 2019, Disney World is donating $20,000 to Make-A-Wish in Northern Florida. They’ve also supported Give Kids the World Village, a non-profit vacation resort for kids and their families to enjoy completely for free thanks to 40,000 VoluntEAR hours annually.
