Prices continue to climb.
With Thanksgiving just days away, we have seen a significant jump in the price of Genie+ from a previous high of $22 to now $29 per person. Individual Lightning Lane access for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has increased to $25 per person. This is the first time that Genie+ is more expensive than the Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance.
When Genie+ was first introduced, the service was available at a flat rate of $15 per person. Once Disney announced the recent switch to date-based pricing, we saw a new high of $22. Disney noted that $22 was as high as it would go in October, which implied that even higher rates were headed our way.
Prices for Individual Lightning Lane have always been on a date-based basis but were capped – formerly at $20. With the updated pricing scale for Genie+, Individual Lighting Lane prices (especially for Rise of the Resistance) have climbed as well.
In October at Disneyland, Genie+ reached $30 per person per day, and the service there offers fewer benefits.
With Christmas just over four weeks away, it begs the question; how high with Genie+ rates climb as we move through the holiday season?
