Disney Shares First Look at Concept Art for Disneyland’s Avatar Project

During the annual shareholder meeting on April 3, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared a first-look concept art of the proposed new Avatar land at the Disneyland Resort.

Mr. Iger highlighted several initiatives throughout the company, including at the theme parks. Iger took the opportunity during the time focused on the Disney Experiences segment to share the “creative inspiration” for what Imagineers are designing for the potential Avatar experience at the Disneyland Resort.

In addition, Mr. Iger mentioned the DisneylandForward proposal, which will go up for final approval from the Anaheim City Council later in April. Since Disneyland has not officially announced the Avatar project, it may imply that Imagineers plan to build Avatar in the expansion zones that will be created DisneylandForward.

Disney also suggested that lands based on Frozen, Zootopia, and Black Panther could be included as the Disneyland Resort expands, should the proposal be approved.
