Mind if I play through?
If you were hoping to play a round of golf at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course this summer, you are out of luck. The course will close during the summer while select holes on the back 9 will undergo a major renovation project, specifically focusing on holes 14 through 17.
Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course opened on October 1, 1971 – the same day as Magic Kingdom and was most recently renovated in 2015. Disney’s Palm Golf Course also opened that day.
Disney has provided concept art of some of the planned updates, which haven’t been finalized and are subject to change.

The Course reimagining is in good hands with Arnold Palmer Golf Management improving the entire course. Ken Baker will be overseeing the redesign. Major updates are planned for holes 14-17
Highlights of the improvements include:
Hole 14 – Currently a par 5, will become a part 4 with a new green location.
Hole 15 – Currently a par 3, will shift location and become a long par 5, dogleg to the right.
Hole 16 – Will shift location and remain a par 4, but will now become a dogleg to the left.
Hole 17 – Currently a par 4, will become a par 3, with new tee box locations.

Connecting holes 16 and 17 a wooden bridge will be constructed through the forest. Several green side bunkers, some new fairways, and various teeing grounds will be installed testing the skill levels of each player. The course will remain a par 72.
Disney extended invitations to PGA Tour stars Sergio Garcia and Gary Woodland to take a sneak peek of the redesign. Both golfers were reportedly very enthusiastic about the course improvements.
No project completion date has been announced. Disney’s Palm and Disney’s Lake Buena Vista courses are open for your future enjoyment. Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course looks forward to welcoming back players later this year.
