Surprises were plentiful in this week’s voting in the Not Your Mother’s Goose Tournament of Disney Sidekicks, as three of the eight matchups went the way of the lower seed. Click here to vote in the next round, or use the ballot below.
The Lion King’s Hyenas became the first #1 seed to fall, as Aladdin’s Iago talked their ears off en route to a convincing victory with over 60% of the vote in the Villains bracket. Iago moves on to face another upset winner, #4 Mr. Smee, who sent #2 LeFou back to the tavern to drown his sorrows in his namesake brew. The third upset came courtesy of Large(ish) bracket 4-seed Maui, who upended #2 Baymax to move on and face Baloo.
With 8 sidekicks remaining, Genie from Aladdin looks hard to beat after cracking the 80% mark in his win over Lumiere and Cogsworth. He’ll face a stern test next, though, squaring off against Timon and Pumbaa. Rounding out the bracket is a #1 vs. #2 matchup in the Small(ish) region pitting Olaf against Tinker Bell.
