In the end, the result was hardly a surprise.
Six weeks and 24 competitors later, Aladdin’s Genie has won the Tournament of Disney Sidekicks conducted by Not Your Mother’s Goose.
After steamrolling past Lumiere and Cogsworth, Timon and Pumbaa, and Iago en route to the finals, Genie has no trouble dispatching the overall runner-up, Frozen’s Olaf. Genie led throughout the final round of ballots, cruising to the win with 73% of the vote.
While one Olaf voter cleverly commented “Some people are just worth voting for,” the snowman supporters were overwhelmed at the polls by folks like the commenter who said, “Don’t get me wrong, Olaf is cool…but nothing will beat PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER!”
More than 3,000 total votes were cast over the course of the tournament, and Topher Goggin again expressed his thanks to World of Walt fans for their support and their votes.
